HE CONTINUED TO EXPLAIN THAT WHEN A <br />CUSTOMER CALLS WITH A COMPLAINT, THEY ASK HIM A SERIES OF ROUTINE <br />QUESTIONS TO TRY TO DETERMINE WHERE THE TROUBLE IS, AND HE NOTED THAT <br />WHAT THE CUSTOMER SEES ON HIS SET SHOULD BE THE SAME AS THE PICTURE <br />ON THE MONITOR AT THE CABLEVISION COMPANY. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE COMPLIMENTED MR. MILES ON THE PETITIONS <br />HE HAD PRESENTED WHICH ARE VERY COMPLETE, AND EVEN SET OUT THE <br />CUSTOMERS COMPLAINT, MOST OF WHICH SEEM TO BE POOR RECEPTION OR <br />/I SNOW. it <br />MR. HAIMOWITZ"STATED THAT AFTER THE HURRICANE, THEY SPENT <br />ABOUT FIVE DAYS TRACING A SIGNAL PROBLEM TO SHADY REST. HE CONTINUED <br />THAT THEY CHECKED THE AMPLIFIER AND DID RESTORE SERVICE IN THAT <br />AREA, BUT THEY HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH DISTANT CHANNELS, <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS ASKED ABOUT THE CHANNELS INVOLVED IN <br />THE COMPLAINTS, AND CHAIRMAN WODTKE STATED THERE WAS A REFERENCE TO <br />CHANNELS 5, 11, 13, AND 44. <br />MR. MILES STATED THAT HE HAS A PROBLEM WITH 9 AND 12. <br />MR. HAIMOWITZ NOTED THAT NORMALLY 9 IS PERFECT. HE COMMENTED <br />THAT IF IT IS PERFECT IN SEBASTIAN, ON THEIR MONITOR, IN MICC0, ETC., <br />THEN IT IS A PROBLEM WITH ONE PERSON S SET. HE STATED THAT THEY DO <br />TRY TO GIVE THE PEOPLE THE SERVICE, BUT THEY MUST UNDERSTAND THAT <br />THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GET PERFECT RECEPTION FROM 12 CHANNELS 365 <br />DAYS A YEAR. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS ASKED IF THE NIGHT MAN HAS A RECORDER, <br />AND MR. HAIMOWITZ STATED THAT THE RECORDER IS AT THE OFFICE. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS BELIEVED THAT THE PEOPLE FEEL THEIR <br />COMPLAINT IS NOT GOING TO ANY PLACE AND THEY FEEL FRUSTRATED WHEN <br />THEY DON `T GET A REPLY. <br />MR. HAIMOWITZ INFORMED HIM THAT THE TAPE SAYS THEY WILL <br />RETURN THE CUSTOMER `S CALL AND GIVES THE STANDBY MAN'S NUMBER TO <br />CALL IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY. THE TAPE IS CLEARED THE NEXT DAY, AND <br />ON WEEKENDS, THE STANDBY MAN GOES TO THE OFFICE AND CHECKS THE TAPE. <br />
