b. _(Q.) Has the plant been designed, constructed and installed <br />in accordance with the requirements of the Department <br />of Environmental Regulation? <br />(A.) Yes, the plant design and construction has been <br />approved by the Department of Environmental Regulation <br />and other regulatory agencies concerned. <br />C. (Q.) Has the plant been inspected to insure safe and <br />adequate service at all times? <br />(A.) Yes, it has. <br />Daily Operating Reports are required by and must be <br />submitted to the D.E.R. on a monthly basis for their <br />review.. The D.E.R. also makes unannounced inspections <br />of the utilities and collects samples for their labs to <br />analyze to ensure our compliance with the state require- <br />ments. The last visit of this type was on July ll, 1978. <br />On November 9, 1977 the Legislature of the State of <br />Florida enacted the "Florida Safe Drinking Water Act" <br />sections 403.850 - 403.864 Florida Statutes. The purpose <br />being to assure that public water systems supply drinking <br />water which meets minimum requirements as required by the <br />"Safe Drinking Water Act" of the Federal Government. The <br />Regulations outlined in Chapter 17-22 are promulgated to <br />implement the requirements of the Florida Safe Drinking <br />Water Act as well as acquire primacy for the State of <br />Florida under the Federal Act. These Regulations adopt <br />the National Primary and Secondary Drinking Water Regulations <br />of the Federal Government where possible. <br />The quality standards for the Primary Drinking Water <br />Regulations provide for the maximum allowable contaminant <br />levels applicable to community water systems. The regulation <br />provides that a water analysis is to be made and completed <br />by June 24, 1979 and June 24, 1980 to establish whether <br />the utilities water meets these standards. f= <br />Bfl1(€ OLCa <br />To comply with these.
