ITEMIZE THE CHARGES AND IT COMES OUT TO BE A LUMP SUM FEE. <br />DISCUSSION WAS THEN HELD ABOUT THE DRAINAGE STUDY FOR THAT <br />AREA, AND INTERVIEWS ARE TO BE HELD THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS FELT NO DESIGN FOR THAT ROAD IS GOING <br />TO BE ACCEPTED BY THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE AREA UNLESS THE <br />DRAINAGE STUDY IS INCLUDED, AND STRESSED THAT IN ORDER TO DO THIS <br />JOB, THEIR FIRM IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE SURE ABOUT THE DRAINAGE. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT ASKED IF THEIR FIRM EVER WORKED ON <br />A TIME BASIS WITH A "NOT TO EXCEED" FIGURE, AND MR. DEMUDD ANSWERED <br />AFFIRMATIVELY AND THAT THEY ALWAYS HAVE AN UPSET LIMIT. <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATOR THOMAS ASKED IF THEIR FIRM <br />HAD A FINANCIAL CONSULTANT AND WAS ADVISED THAT A COMPANY KNOWN <br />AS PLANTEK DEVOTES THEIR TIME TO THIS WORK. <br />MR. DEMUDD STATED:THEYi'COMPLETE THEIR WORK ON TIME AND ON <br />BUDGET, AND OFTEN WHEN THEY REACH THE POINT OF COMPLETION, THEY ARE <br />ASKED TO DO ADDITIONAL WORK. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED IF THEY COULD BE HELD TO THEIR <br />ESTIMATE OF TIME AND MR. DEMUDD ANSWERED AFFIRMATIVELY. <br />MR. DEMUDD THEN PRAISED MR, RATLIFF OF TAMPA, THE ENVIRON- <br />MENTALIST WHO BELONGS TO THEIR SUBSIDIARY FIRM, WHO TAKES CARE OF <br />THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS. HE MENTIONED THAT IN THE DOT, THEY <br />CONSIDERED HIM QUALIFIED ENOUGH TO TEACH THROUGHOUT THE STATE, <br />THE BOARD THEN THANKED MS. BORROWES, MR. BAXLEY AND MR. <br />DEMUDD FOR THEIR PRESENTATION. <br />THE BOARD WELCOMED DON HENDERSON, PROJECT DIRECTOR, AND <br />JIM BOCK, PROJECT DESIGN ENGINEER, FROM GREINER ENGINEERING SCIENCES, <br />INC. OF TAMPA, FLORIDA. <br />MR. HENDERSON STATED THAT THEIR FIRM DESIGNED THE ORIGINAL <br />PROJECT FOR THE DOT. HE CONTINUED THAT THEIR FIRM IS ONE OF THE <br />LARGEST ENGINEERING FIRMS AND HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR OVER %O <br />YEARS; THEIR MAIN OFFICE IS IN TAMPA, AND HAVE BEEN IN FLORIDA FOR <br />22 YEARS. MR, HENDERSON MENTIONED SEVERAL PROJECTS, SUCH AS: <br />CHESAPEAKE BAY BRIDGE, TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, AND THE SPACE <br />DEC 12 1979 3 BOCK 42 FAGS 296, <br />
