STATE ROAD IN POLK COUNTY SHOWING DRAINAGE FROM THE <br />ROADWAY GOING INTO THE SWALES, WHERE DAMAGE WAS <br />MINIMIZED TO THE VEGETATION IN THE AREA. <br />2. SEVERAL STREETS IN LAKE BUENA VISTA. <br />3. A FOUR LANE STREET WHERE THE DRAINAGE RUNS FROM THE <br />PAVEMENT INTO SWALES, AND THE EXCESS RUNS OFF INTO THE <br />ADJOINING LAKE. <br />4. STREET IN RESIDENTIAL ORLANDO AREA WHERE WATER RUNS OFF <br />THE PAVEMENT INTO ROADSIDE SWALES AND PERCOLATES INTO THE <br />SOIL, MAINTAINING ASNATURAL CONDITION AS POSSIBLE. <br />5. STREET IN SOUTHERN PART OF ORLANDO WITH CURBS AND GUTTERS. <br />6. A FULL HIGHWAY SYSTEM, WHICH IS THE INTERCHANGE TO THE <br />ENTRANCE TO WALT DISNEY WORLD. <br />HE THEN SHOWED SLIDES OF THE COUNTY'S PROJECT. MR. BAXLEY COMMENTED <br />THAT THEY KNEW COUNTY OFFICIALS HAD BEEN MEETING WITH THE DER TO <br />GET AN ACCEPTABLE ALIGNMENT OF THE ROAD. HE REPORTED THAT THEY <br />ARE GOING TO HAVE SOIL INFORMATION TO DETERMINE WHETHER A LIME ROCK <br />BASE WILL BE ACCEPTABLE FOR THE PAVEMENT. MR. BAXLEY FELT THE <br />DESIGN SCHEDULE WILL TAKE 3 TO 3-1/2 MONTHS AND CONSTRUCTION OF <br />THIS WILL BE ABOUT 6 MONTHS, CULMINATING WITH A SET OF AS -BUILT <br />DRAWINGS FOR THE COUNTY'S USE. HE AFFIRMED THAT THEY WOULD BE READY <br />TO WORK RIGHT AWAY AFTER THE HOLIDAYS. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED WHAT JOBS THEY ARE NOW DOING IN <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. <br />Ms. BORROWES EXPLAINED THEY ARE NOT DOING ANY ENGINEERING <br />AT THE PRESENT TIME, JUST WATER MANAGEMENT; BUT YEARS AGO THEIR <br />FIRM WORKED ON I-95 AND DID THE DESIGN WORK ON THE UDU SYSTEM. <br />JOHN DEMUDD, PROJECT MANAGER, APPROACHED THE BOARD AND <br />EXPLAINED THE COST CONTROL. HE STATED THEY DEVELOP WHAT THEY <br />CONSIDER THE MAN-HOUR ESTIMATES AND APPLY THEIR HOURLY RATE; AND. <br />THEY HAVE AN OVERHEAD FACTOR AND A PROFIT. MR. DEMUDD NOTED THEY <br />
