THE BOARD- WELCOMED NEXT CHZM .HILL, WHICH IS A JOINT VENTURE <br />WITH CARTER ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />CHARLES M. GREEN, PROJECT MANAGER OF CHZM HILL, 'APPROACHED <br />THE BOARD AND STATED THAT THEIR -FIRM HAS FOUR OFFICES IN FLORIDA: <br />GAINESVILLE, BOCA RATON, CLEARWATER, AND NAPLES; AND THEY HAVE BEEN <br />IN FLORIDA FOR 25 YEARS. HE CONTINUED THAT HE HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED <br />WITH THE FIRM FOR ONE YEAR BUT HAS HAD ZZ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN BRIDGE <br />AND HIGHWAY DESIGN. MR. GREEN STATED THEY HAVE SOIL ENGINEERS IN <br />THEIR FIRM AND ADVISED THE FOLLOWING PERSONNEL WOULD BE INVOLVED <br />IN THIS PROJECT: LLOYD MCNISH, WHO HAS HAD 28 YEARS OF HIGHWAY <br />DESIGN EXPERIENCE; TOM CUTTING WOULD BE INVOLVED IN STRUCTURAL <br />DESIGN; AND DON WYCOFF IN GAINESVILLE WOULD BE INVOLVED IN DRAINAGE. <br />MR. GREEN ADVISED THAT HE WOULD BE THE PROJECT MANAGER, AND THAT <br />THE CARTER ORGANIZATION WOULD BE INVOLVED IN INSPECTION, DRAINAGE <br />AND SURVEY WORK. HE THEN REFERRED TO SIMILAR PROJECTS REGARDING <br />STREETS AND ROADS AND FELT THEY HAD ALL THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS <br />PROJECT. <br />MARVIN CARTER, PRESIDENT OF CARTER ASSOCIATES, STATED THAT <br />THEIR FIRM HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY INVOLVED IN ROADWAY DESIGN LOCALLY, <br />AND MEETING COUNTY SPECIFICATIONS, INCLUDING RIGHT-OF-WAY SERVICE <br />AND MAPS FOR STATE ROAD 510 AND STATE.ROAD 60. HE CONTINUED THAT <br />THEY RECENTLY DID A TOPOGRAPHY SURVEY FOR HOBART BROTHERS; ALSO <br />PREPARED 34TH AVENUE FOR A BRIDGE AND AN EXTENSION; AND VARIOUS <br />IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE CITY. MR. CARTER NOTED THAT HISTORICALLY, <br />THEIR FIRMDESIGNED THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SERO BEACH, AND AS FAR AS <br />LOGISTICS, THEY HAVE THE LATEST TYPE OF SURVEYING EQUIPMENT AND <br />PERSONNEL. HE THEN DISPLAYED THE PROJECT SITE TO THE BOARD AND <br />INFORMED THEM THAT THEY ARE INVOLVED IN REPRESENTING CLIENTS IN <br />THE BARBER AVENUE CONDEMNATION. MR. CARTER HAS REVIEWED THE PLANS <br />AND FELT WORK ON THE REALIGNMENT CAN BE A SAVINGS TO THE COUNTY, AS <br />THE BASIC DESIGNS APPEAR,SOUND. HE ADDED THAT THE PLANS CAN BE <br />UTILIZED IF THE SCOPE OF WORK PERMITS IT, AND FURTHER ASSURED THE <br />BOARD THEY CAN PUT A TEAM TOGETHER THAT CAN GET THE JOB DONE. <br />DEC 121979 7 BOOK '42 PACE 30;0 <br />
