PUBLIC DISCUSSION ITEM – BRIAN HEADY’S REQUEST <br />TO DISCUSS HOW CURRENT AND PAST ACTIONS OF <br />NEARBY COUNTIES ARE SIMILAR TO ACTIONS OF THE <br />ELECTED BODY ALL OF WHICH RELATE TO THE <br />QUALITY OF LIFE, THE TAX BURDEN, AND <br />EXPENDITURES OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY RESIDENTS <br />Brian Heady <br />, Vero Beach, referenced Article I, Section 5 of the Florida <br />Constitution that addresses the right of citizens to instruct their representatives and the Sunshine <br />Law that provides that meetings be noticed, open to the public and the public be allowed to attend <br />and speak. Rather than spending a ton of money to make a five-lane highway in a residential area <br />that the residents do not want, he asked the Board to have another meeting that will be properly <br />noticed, that the public will have the opportunity to attend, and he asked them to listen to the <br />rd <br />public, do their public duty and represent the majority of the public with regards to the 43 Avenue <br />widening. <br />NO ACTION REQUIRED OR TAKEN. <br /> <br />9.B.2.
