Chairman Ginn was honored to present the framed certificates and congratulated the <br />two newest Commissioners on their achievement. She explained these certificates took extra <br />effort as well as travel around the state to achieve this special designation. <br />Commissioner Adams was proud they completed this strenuous 2-year course <br />instituted by FACo in 1996. Topics such as county finance, budgets, ethics in government, <br />community development processes, special districts and revenue sources are covered. <br /> <br />5.B. PRESENTATION BY BETH MITCHELL CONCERNING THE <br />FELLSMERE FROG LEG FESTIVAL AND COMMUNITY <br />DONATIONS <br /> <br />Beth Mitchell <br />, Executive Director of the Sebastian River Area Chamber of <br />Commerce and this year’s treasurer of the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival, Inc., announced they had <br />made a $45,000 donation this year toward the renovation of the historic Fellsmere School. Thus <br />far a total of $135,000 has been donated for the school and they plan to continue this effort in the <br />future. The Festival has made a total contribution to the community over the 13 years in excess of <br />$350,000. She hoped the County would continue the renovation efforts for the school and looked <br />forward to the completion of that project. <br />Commissioner Adams requested an update from General Services Director Tom <br />Frame regarding the school in the near future. <br /> <br />5.C.
