JUSTICE ASSISTANCE AWARD – PAYMENT TO JUSTICE <br />BENEFITS, INC. (JBI) <br />Harry Hall, Comptroller for the Sheriff, explained the program and requested the <br />Board accept this award of $48,308.52, and send the remaining $13,625.48 to Justice Benefits, Inc. <br />in payment of their services. <br /> <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Lowther, the Board unanimously (4-0 <br />Commissioner Ginn absent) accepted the total amount of <br />$61,934 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance and <br />authorized payment of the invoice in the amount of <br />$13,625.48 to Justice Benefits, Inc., as requested in the <br />memorandum of July 19, 2004 from the Sheriff’s office. <br /> <br />9.A.1. PUBLIC HEARING – UNITY CENTER OF VERO BEACH – <br />REQUEST FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION APPROVAL FOR A <br />SCHOOL (QUASI-JUDICIAL) <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br /> <br />Planning Division Director Stan Boling reviewed the memorandum using a map and <br />an aerial photo to identify and explain the proposed special exception request and the relationship <br />of the site to the surrounding properties. He stated approval of this request will reduce future <br />church expansion and would add a school use to this site. He noted that some classrooms within <br />th <br />the church would be used for this Kindergarten thru 8 grade during the first phase of development <br />of the school plus a small playground area.
