REQUESTTOSPEAKFROMCHERRISELIVINGSTONE <br /> <br />REGARDINGIRCRESIDENTSPAYINGCITYOFVERO <br /> <br />BEACHUTILITIES <br /> <br /> <br />Cherrise Livingstone <br />, 4117 Abington Woods Circle, expressed displeasure at having to pay <br />City of Vero Beach utility charges when she is a County resident. She noted that there is a significant <br />difference in the kilowatt-hour charges, Vero Beach being higher than FPL. Ms. Livingstone wanted to <br />know why she was being charged so much and where all the money was going. <br /> <br />Chairman Neuberger informed Ms. Livingston that Vero Beach gets the money. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued and County Administrator Baird noted that the Board does not have authority <br />to take action in this matter. However, Ms. Livingstone could contact State Legislators to have the <br />boundaries re-drawn or change laws that could. He explained the charges in detail and again noted that <br />the County had no authority to take action. He offered to provide contact information for the relevant <br />government bodies. <br /> <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED <br />by Chairman Neuberger, to give our legal staff direction to bring <br />back a resolution defining the problem and asking the State <br />AUGUST 22, 2006 45 <br /> <br />
