GENERAL FUND <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in this <br />matter. There being none, he closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously adopted the <br />proposed tentative millage of 3.8377, as recommended by staff <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Neuberger, the Board unanimously adopted the <br />proposed tentative budget of $65,621,614, as recommended by <br />staff. <br />6.2. MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT (M.S.T.U.1 <br />matter. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in this <br />Bob Johnson, Coral Wind, questioned the method of determining the amount of the <br />contingency fund, and Assistant County Administrator Joe Baird gave a brief explanation of the <br />state requirements by statute in Chapter 129 and contingencies based on what might be needed <br />for unforeseen occurrences in each fund, particularly for grants which require matching funds <br />that are not immediately reimbursed. <br />Administrator Chandler pointed out that the contingency fund has not been increased for <br />many years but has remained virtually the same. <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2003 <br />
