MR. LAW STATED THAT THE TIMETABLE THAT WAS DISCUSSED WOULD <br />FURNISH THEIR VALUES TO THE TAXING AUTHORITIES BY AUGUST 13TH. <br />AUGUST 20TH THE MILLAGES WOULD BE CERTIFIED BACK TO THE PROPERTY <br />APPRAISER'S OFFICE. SEPTEMBER 14TH THE NOTICE WILL GO TO THE TAX- <br />PAYER WITH THE THREE PHASE INFORMATION (LAST YEAR'S TAXES, PROPOSED <br />UNCHANGED AND PROPOSED CHANGE, WITH ALL OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT <br />HEARING DATES, ETC.) THE HEARINGS WOULD COMMENCE ON THE BUDGET <br />SEPTEMBER 19TH AND FINISH ON SEPTEMBER 30TH AND WOULD BE RETURNED TO <br />THE PROPERTY APPRAISER AFTER FINAL HEARINGS TO PROCEED FROM THERE WITH <br />EXTENSIONS OF THE TAX ROLL TO DELIVER TO THE TAX COLLECTOR. <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT POINTED OUT TO THE BOARD THAT THE DATE OF <br />THE SECOND HEARING IS THE LAST DAY BEFORE THE END OF THE BUDGET YEAR. <br />THIS CONDENSES THE BUDGET PROCESS AND MEANS WE HAVE TO COME UP WITH <br />MILLAGES NOT LATER THAN THE 20TH OF AUGUST IN ORDER TO GET THE NOTICE <br />OUT WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME: IT IS AN EMERGENCY PROCESS. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE COMMENTED THAT EVERY TAXING AGENCY IN <br />THE COUNTY WILL HAVE TO DO THIS, AND THE CHAIRMAN AGREED AND NOTED <br />THAT IS WHY THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED WITH MR. LAW AND HE HAS ASKED <br />OUR COOPERATION IN CONTACTING THE OTHER TAXING AUTHORITIES. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS ASKED IF WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A TENTATIVE <br />BUDGET OR FINAL BUDGET, AND MR. LAW STATED A FINAL BUDGET ON THE <br />INTERIM ROLL. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS ASKED IF THE.INTERIM ROLL IS A 100% ROLL. <br />MR, LAW STATED THAT THE INTERIM ROLL AS DEFINED BY LAW IS <br />THIS YEAR'S ROLL AS FAR AS OWNERSHIPS, NEW OWNERSHIPS, DIVISIONS OF <br />OWNERSHIPS, WITH THE UPDATE OF THIS YEAR'S EXEMPTIONS AT LAST YEAR'S <br />VALUES, PLUS NEW CONSTRUCTION. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS QUESTIONED WHETHER THERE IS ANY REASSESS- <br />MENT INVOLVED IN THIS, AND MR. LAW INFORMED HIM THAT EVERYTHING WILL <br />BE INTACT FROM LAST YEAR - ONLY NEW CONSTRUCTION WILL BE ADDED, <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE ASKED IF THE INTERIM ROLL WILL BE BASED <br />ON THE REGULAR HOMESTEAD EXEMPTIONS THAT WE HAVE HAD IN THE PAST. <br />34 <br />80�K 44 PAGE <br />JUL 3 01980 <br />
