PRESENTATIONBYJIMGABBARD,CITYMANAGER,CITY <br /> <br />OFVEROBEACH <br /> <br />City Manager Jim Gabbard <br /> advised that the City is involved in the difficult process of exiting <br />their agreement with the Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA). He thanked County Administrator <br />Baird and the Commissioners for this opportunity to educate the public on the City’s electrical system. <br />He believed an explanation would show the City is not “the big bad wolf” that people think they are. <br />John Lee <br />, Customer Service Manager for City of Vero Beach, using a slide presentation <br />compared the charges for electricity by the City and Florida Power & Light’s (FPL). He explained the <br />differences of what their 3 different customer groups (City residents, unincorporated area residents, and <br />Indian River Shores residents) pay for the same usage. (A copy of Mr. Lee’s report and presentation is on <br />file in the office of the Clerk to the Board.)
