PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING APRIL 6 THROUGH APRIL 12, 2014 AS <br />CRIME VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, victims of crime across America need and deserve support and <br />assistance to help them cope with the consequences of crime; and <br />WHEREAS, national Crime Victims' Rights Week offers us all the opportunity to <br />promote Strength in Unify in helping victims and survivors of crime through a wide range of <br />supportive services offered by over 10,000 community and justice system -based programs, <br />and the more than 32,000 federal and state statutes that define and protect their rights; and <br />WHEREAS, by being united against crime and for victim's rights and services we <br />gain strength as individuals, as communities, and as a nation as a whole, and offer strength <br />to victims who seek to recover in the aftermath of crime; and <br />WHEREAS, America has joined together annually, each April since 1981 to <br />recognize the needs and rights of crime victims and survivors during National Crime Victims' <br />Rights Week. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that April 6 through April 12, <br />2014 be designated as CRIME VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK in Indian River County, and the <br />Board honors crime victims and those who serve them during this week and throughout the <br />year. <br />Adopted this Vt day of April, 2014. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, <br />IN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Peter D.
