DEC 311980 <br />AND OPERATORS. <br />Boa. .45 Fa,t 527 <br />HE REQUESTED THAT THE COUNTY COMMISSION TABLE THE <br />PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH AN ADVISORY BOARD INDEFINITELY. <br />I <br />COMMISSIONER BIRD ASKED WHETHER MR. CHAFIN WOULD SEE ANY <br />PROBLEM WITH THE FORMING OF AN AD HOC COMMITTEE AS PREVIOUSLY SUGGESTED <br />AND THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF MR. CHAFIN WOULD OBJECT TO LENDING HIS <br />EXPERTISE TO SUCH A COMMITTEE. <br />MR. CHAFIN AGREED THAT THERE IS A NEED FOR THE COMMISSION <br />TO HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE MOBILE HOME INDUSTRY AND ITS <br />PROBLEMS, AND DID NOT FEEL THE LOCAL CHAPTER OF THE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION <br />WOULD OBJECT TO AN AD HOC COMMITTEE SET UP AS SUGGESTED. HE STATED <br />HE WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM IN SERVING ON SUCH A COMMITTEE. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK, SECONDED BY COM- <br />MISSIONER FLETCHER, TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 80-138, FORMING AN AD HOC <br />COMMITTEE USING THE GUIDELINES AS SET OUT IN THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE <br />FOR CREATION OF A MOBILE HOME BOARD; THIS COMMITTEE TO BE FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF RECOMMENDING APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION, IF THOUGHT NECESSARY, <br />TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS OF THE MOBILE HOME OWNER; THE COMMITTEE TO <br />SERVE UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THAT TASK IS PERFORMED. <br />MR. CROSBY STATED THAT WOULD BE SATISFACTORY TO HIM, BUT <br />NOTED THAT PEOPLE FROM OTHER MOBILE PARKS THAN HIS WOULD ALSO LIKE <br />TO BE HEARD. <br />THE FOLLOWING MOBILE HOME OWNERS PRESENTED THEIR VIEWS AND <br />PROBLEMS TO THE BOARD: <br />JAMES HENNESSEY OF FAIRLANE HARBOR <br />JOHN SULLIVAN OF LAKEWOOD VILLAGE <br />THOMAS QUIMBY OF HOLIDAY VILLAGE <br />RAY TURNER OF WHISPERING PALMS <br />ERIC BIRD OF SHADY REST <br />FRANCES TULLY OF VILLAGE GREEN <br />HANK WATERS OF VILLAGE GREEN <br />ED SMITH OF LAKEWOOD VILLAGE <br />THEY CONCURRED THEY DID NOT WISH RENT CONTROL, BUT THEY DID <br />DESIRE TO BE DEALT WITH EQUITABLY. THEIR EMPHASIS WAS ON THE UNJUSTI- <br />FIABLY UNPROPORTIONATE INCREASE IN RENTS COMBINED WITH LACK OF SERVICES <br />
