Change of Use - See Use, Change of. <br />Channel of the Intracoastal Waterway - All waters within the <br />navigable channel of the Intracoastal Waterway in the Indian River <br />in Indian River County, Florida, and which navigable channel is a <br />part of the inland waterways, and which said navigable channel is <br />located by buoys or other markers placed by the U.S. Coast Guard <br />or Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) together with the area <br />extending a distance of one hundred (100) feet from each side of <br />said channel in a direction away from the center of such channel <br />and the sides of which channel being as determined and marked by <br />the buoys and markers placed by U.S. Coast Guard or Florida Inland <br />Navigation District (FIND). <br />Charitable Institutions - Nonprofit corporations operating physical <br />facilities in Florida at which are provided charitable services, <br />a reasonable percentage of which shall be without cost to those <br />unable to pay. <br />Child Care - The care, protection and supervision of a child for <br />a period of less than twenty-four (24) hours a day on a regular <br />basis which supplements for the child, in accordance with his <br />individual needs, daily care, enrichment opportunities, and health <br />supervision and where a payment, fee or grant is made for care. <br />Child Care Facility - A facility which includes any duly licensed <br />child care center or child care arrangement that provides child <br />care for more than five (5) children unrelated to the operator and <br />which receives a payment, fee or grant for any of the children <br />receiving care, wherever operated, and whether or not operated for <br />profit. The following are not included: Public schools and <br />nonpublic schools which are in compliance with the Compulsory <br />School Attendance Law, Chapter 232, Florida Statutes; summer camps <br />having children in full-time residence; summer day camps, and Bible <br />schools normally conducted during vacation periods. The provisions <br />of this act shall not apply to a child care facility which is an <br />integral part of a church when such child care is only associated <br />with child care provided during services and other church <br />activities or parochial schools conducting regular classes or <br />courses of study. <br />Chlorination - Chemical method of water treatment involving <br />sterilizing, oxidizing, and bleaching procedures. The process <br />causes ions of iron and manganese to precipitate out of the water <br />and oxidizes hydrogen sulfides. <br />Church - An institution that people regularly attend to participate <br />in or hold religious services, meetings, and other activities. The <br />term "church" shall not carry a secular connotation and shall <br />include buildings in which the religious services of any <br />denomination are held.
