(a) Permits or approvals given over-the-counter (while you <br />wait) include: <br />- driveway construction/uncovered slab permit <br />- fence/wall permit <br />accessory structures permit <br />- demolition permit <br />- re -roofing permit <br />- minor alteration permit <br />- construction and subcontractor "trade" permits <br />(electrical, plumbing, mechanical) <br />(b) Permits or approvals requiring more detailed review <br />include: <br />- concurrency certificate <br />- construction of single family home (including <br />alterations/additions) <br />- tree removal and land clearing permit <br />- right-of-way permit <br />- type "C" stormwater management permit <br />- pond permit <br />- mangrove alteration permit <br />- temporary use permit <br />- home occupation permit <br />- release of easement <br />- covenant for removal of structure in easement <br />- drainage district permit (non -county) <br />- well and septic tank permit (non -county) <br />- DNR construction seaward of CCCL (non -county) <br />(2) No single family building permit application will be accepted <br />for review unless either a concurrency certificate has been <br />obtained or has been applied for. <br />(3) Once all permits are issued or approvals are given, <br />construction may commence in conformance with the issued <br />permit or approved application. Inspections are required and <br />conducted as indicated by the building division on the <br />permits, approved applications, and information materials <br />available at the building division office. <br />(4) Minor improvements, such as fences, receive a final <br />inspection which is the last approval given by the county <br />which allows full use of the improvement and indicates that <br />the improvement complies with all applicable county <br />standards. Major improvements, such as the construction of <br />a new home, requires the issuance of a "certificate of <br />occupancy" (C.O.) which is the last approval given by the <br />county which allows full use of the improvements and <br />indicates that the improvements comply with all applicable <br />county requirements. <br />256 <br />
