MORE DISCUSSION TOOK PLACE ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF REQUIRING <br />DEVELOPERS TO OBTAIN BINDING LETTERS. IT WAS NOTED THAT ANOTHER <br />SEPARATE ORDINANCE IS IN THE PROPOSAL STAGE AT THIS TIME WHICH WOULD <br />COVER A MAJOR SITE PLAN REVIEW - THIS WOULD SET CERTAIN THRESHOLDS <br />AND BETTER ENABLE THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO HIGHLIGHT THE IMPACTS <br />THAT MIGHT BE CAUSED. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ABOUT FLORIDA LAND COMPANY, AND IT <br />WAS THOUGHT THEY MIGHT COME BACK FOR A REZONING ON THEIR PROPERTY. <br />SOME OF THE BOARD MEMBERS THOUGHT THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE MIGHT BE <br />PREMATURE. <br />PLANNING DIRECTOR REVER ADVISED THAT THERE ARE TWO PROJECTS <br />SIMILAR.TO FLORIDA LAND COMPANY COMING INTO THEIR DEPARTMENT SOON. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS RECOMMENDED INCLUDING SECTION 3 TO THE <br />BOARD IN LIGHT OF WHAT HE UNDERSTOOD WAS THE ATTITUDE OF THE BOARD. <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF THERE WAS ANYONE PRESENT WHO WISHED <br />TO BE HEARD. <br />WILLIAM KOOLAGE, INTERESTED CITIZEN, CAME BEFORE THE BOARD <br />TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO PASS THIS ORDINANCE, AND HE FELT THEY NEEDED <br />THE ORDINANCE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SCURLOCK, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ABOUT THE THRESHOLD OF 500 UNITS, AND <br />ATTORNEY SOVIERG RECOMMENDED THAT THIS FIGURE WOULD BE THE STRONGEST <br />TO SUPPORT. <br />COMMISSIONER BIRD QUESTIONED THE USE OF THE WORDS "REASONABLE <br />PROXIMITY" ON PAGE 2, PARAGRAPH ONE. <br />ATTORNEY SOVIERO STATED THAT HE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CHANGING <br />THE WORDING AS THEY NEED THE FLEXIBILITY. <br />MORE DISCUSSION FOLLOWED. <br />JAN 141981 43 Bch 45 P�,E 621 <br />
