PIRANI OF COLONIAL TERRACE ALSO EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT <br />TRAFFIC ON GLENDALE AND FELT MR. ZORC ONLY WANTED THAT ACCESS FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF ROUTING POSSIBLE PURCHASERS PAST COLONIAL TERRACE, <br />ATTORNEY PLAMLR BELIEVED THAT THERE MUST BE A LOT OF EVIDENCE <br />PRESENTED TO JUSTIFY CLOSING A PUBLIC ROAD FOR ACCESS TO A PIECE OF <br />PROPERTY, HE POINTED OUT THAT WITH TWO ACCESSES, PEOPLE WILL BE USING <br />BOTH ENTRANCES AND HE DID NOT FEEL THERE IS ANY .EVIDENCE TO FIND THAT <br />MR, ZORC CANNOT HAVE ACCESS TO 10TH AVENUE. HE NOTED THAT IF IT SHOULD <br />PROVIDE TO BE A PROBLEM THEN POSSIBLY SOME REMEDIAL ACTION COULD BE <br />TAKEN, BUT THIS IS ALL PURE SPECULATION. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS FELT WE HAVE NOW HEARD ALL THE ARGUMENTS <br />AND ASKED FOR A MOTION, HE ALSO WAS OF THE OPINION THAT IF IT SHOULD <br />TURN OUT THAT THE ACCESS ON 8TH STREET BECAME A PROBLEM, SOME SORT OF <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL COULD BE PUT IN THERE. HE NOTED THAT WE ARE TRYING TO <br />FIND A WAY TO USE THE LAND WITH THE LEAST PROBLEM TO COLONIAL TERRACE <br />AND ALSO BE FAIR TO THE PEOPLE OWNING THE LAND. <br />MR. GIANNOTTI, RESIDENT OF THE AREA, COMMENTED THAT IT WAS <br />FOUR MINUTES SINCE THE CHAIRMAN ASKED FOR A MOTION AND NO ONE HAS <br />RESPONDED; OBVIOUSLY THERE IS GREAT DOUBT IN THE COMMISSIONS MINDS <br />ABOUT THIS SITUATION, AND HE BELIEVED MORE HOMEWORK HAS TO BE DONE. <br />COMMISSIONER BIRD ASKED THE PLANNING DIRECTOR IF THEY HAD <br />DONE SOME STUDY ON THE TRAFFIC SITUATION AND WHAT THEIR OPINION WAS, <br />MR. REVER STATED THAT IT IS THEIR FEELING THAT IF THE BOARD <br />CONTINUES TO DENY ACCESS IN AND OUT OF SUBDIVISIONS BY MORE THAN ONE <br />MEANS, WE ARE GOING TO BUILD SITUATIONS THAT ARE GOING TO BE UNTENABLE <br />AS GROWTH TAKES PLACE, HE BELIEVED THE TRAFFIC SITUATION COULD WELL <br />BE RELIEVED BY HAVING TWO ACCESSES AND FELT THE ENTRANCE ON OLD DIXIE <br />WILL BE FOUND TO BE MUCH MORE CONVENIENT. THE FACT THAT THE ROADS <br />WOULD BE CLOSE TOGETHER HE FELT IS ANOTHER GOOD REASON TO HAVE AN <br />'ADDITIONAL ACCESS. HE NOTED THAT YOU CANNOT ELIMINATE ALL PROBLEMS, <br />BUT YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO REDUCE THEM AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. MR. REVER <br />WAS OF THE OPINION THAT THE ROADS AS THEY STAND ARE A GOOD POSSIBILITY <br />FOR HANDLING THE TRAFFIC FLOW. <br />JAN 14 1981 <br />
