KONTOULAS REFERRED TO A LETTER WRITTEN BY THE ARCHITECT <br />TO THE CONTRACTOR STATING THERE ARE FIFTEEN DAYS REMAINING IN THE <br />CONTRACT FOR COMPLETING THE COURTHOUSE, WHICH WILL END FEBRUARY 2110TH, <br />INCLUDING 20 DAYS' EXTENSION. MR. KONTOULAS STATED THE REASON HE <br />REFERRED TO THIS LETTER IS THAT THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS INVOLVED <br />THAT ARE PERTINENT TO OCCUPYING THE BUILDING. HE REPORTED THAT HE <br />HAS A LETTER FROM THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT STATING THAT BY CODE THEY <br />CAN PARTIALLY ISSUE TEMPORARY CERTIFICATES OF OCCUPANCY, AND THIS, <br />OF COURSE, WOULD ENTAIL MOVING PERSONNEL. MR. KONTOULAS DID NOT BELIEVE <br />THAT THE FEBRUARY 24TH DEADLINE FOR COMPLETION OF THE COURTHOUSE WILL <br />BE MET, HE CONTINUED THAT THE PAINTING OF THE INTERIOR IS CONTROVER- <br />SIAL; THE CARPETS ARE THE WRONG QUALITY AND COLOR; THE MILLWORK FOR <br />COURTROOM FURNISHINGS HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED; LANDSCAPING WAS STARTED <br />AND HAD TO BE REMOVED BECAUSE OF CLEANING THE EXTERIOR OF THE ANNEX; <br />THE BRICK FOR PAVING THE WALKS HAS BEEN SITTING THERE FOR TWO WEEKS; <br />AND TESTING NEEDS TO BE DONE, MR. KONTOULAS FELT THAT SOMETIME <br />IN MARCH WE WILL BE IN THE COURTHOUSE ON A TEMPORARY BASIS. <br />ADMINISTRATOR NELSON COMMENTED THAT THEY HAVE GIVEN THE <br />COURT ADMINISTRATOR A TENTATIVE DATE OF APRIL 6TH FOR COURT TO BE HELD. <br />MR. KONTOULAS NOTED THAT SOME TIME AGO, THE BOARD AUTHORIZED <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR TO SIGN ANY CHANGE ORDERS UP TO $2,500, AND IN <br />ORDER TO SAVE HIS TIME AND AVOID WAITING AT THE BOARD MEETINGS FOR <br />HOURS, HE WONDERED IF HE COULD PRESENT SUCH SMALL CHANGE ORDERS TO <br />MR. NELSON FOR SIGNATURE, <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE FELT THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR COULD BRING <br />SUCH CHANGE ORDER RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD AND MAKE THE PRESENTA- <br />TION RATHER THAN MR.
