MAR 111981 <br />BOOK 46 PACE 12 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-14 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA,that in order to establish guidelines <br />in matters relating to public saftey and law enforcement; <br />and to improve long range plans relating to public safety, <br />the Board hereby establishes a public safety advisory committee <br />to be known as the "INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE", to be made up of members from the following designated <br />areas: <br />Two members shall be appointed by the Sheriff; <br />Two members shall be appointed by the Board of County <br />Commissioners; <br />One member shall be appointed by the Board of County <br />Commissioners and shall be selected from a list of <br />candidates jointly approved by the Sheriff and the <br />County Commission; <br />as to the three categories above, the members shall be permanent <br />residents and electors of Indian River County and be experienced <br />in the general field of law enforcement and public safety. The <br />original appointments will be two (2) for one-year terms and <br />three (3) for two-year terms; thereafter, the members of the <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE will serve <br />for two-year terms, which shall be staggered with no more than <br />three (3) terms expiring at one time. The members of the INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE shall serve at <br />the pleasure of the appointer and may be removed at any time <br />during the appointed term at the pleasure of the appointer. <br />Replacement of any member of the INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PUBLIC <br />SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE who has served less than a full <br />term shall be for the unexpired term of the member replaced; <br />and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, after the appointments have <br />been made, the INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE shall annually elect a Chairman, Vice Chairman and <br />Secretary. Meetings will be at the call of the Chairman but <br />not less than four (4) times per year. All meetings will <br />
