from the FDEP Inspection reports shall be kept on the job site, and copies shall be <br />submitted monthly to the engineer. <br />1.02 NOTIFICATION <br />A. Indian River County: The Contractor is required to notify the Indian River County <br />Utilities Department 48 hours prior to initiating construction (Larry Brown, 772- <br />226-1827). The Contractor is required to notify the Indian River County Road and <br />Bridge Department 72 hours prior to blocking any county roads or detouring any <br />traffic (Jim Davis, P.E., 772-567-8000, Extension 1245) and the FDOT Maintenance <br />Engineer in Fort Pierce. <br />B. Utility Companies: Contractor shall notify the following known utility companies <br />in the area 48 hours prior to initiating construction: <br />SUNSHINE LOCATES (800) 432-4770 <br />Southern Bell Telephone, Bill Moore, (772) 468-5538 <br />Comcast, Craig Bowers, (772) 567-3444 Ext. 51 <br />FP&L, Paul Hess, (772) 337-7002 <br />City Gas Company, Glen "Bock" Kreinhagen, (561) 871-2552 ext.23 <br />Florida Gas & Transmission, Cecil Walker, (321) 288-8839 <br />C. The Contractor shall give the Engineer not less than seven (7) calendar days notice <br />of the time and place (or places) where he will start the work. <br />D. When the Contractor's excavating operations encounter prehistoric remains or <br />artifacts of historical or archeological significance, the operations shall be <br />temporarily discontinued in that area and the Engineer shall be notified. The <br />Engineer will consult archaeological authorities and determine the disposition of <br />the remains or artifacts.
