SECTION 01381 <br />AUDIO-VISUAL DOCUMENTATION <br />PART 1 -- GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />Prior to commencing the Work, the Contractor shall have a continuous color <br />audio -video tape recording taken along the entire length of the Project to serve <br />as a record of preconstruction conditions. The preconstruction Swale elevations <br />shall be recorded at 100' intervals. <br />1.02 APPROVAL <br />No construction shall begin prior to review and acceptance of the tapes covering <br />the construction area by the Engineer. The Engineer shall have the authority to <br />reject all or any portion of a videotape not conforming to specifications and <br />order that it be redone at no additional charge. The Contractor shall reschedule <br />unacceptable coverage within five (5) days after being notified. The Engineer <br />shall designate those areas, if any, to be omitted from or added to the audio - <br />video coverage. Tape recordings shall not be made more than thirty (30) days <br />prior to beginning of construction in any area. All tapes and written records <br />shall become property of Owner. The tapes shall be delivered to the Owner as <br />soon as possible after recording. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />The Contractor shall engage the services of a professional electrographer. The <br />color audio -video tapes shall be prepared by a responsible commercial firm <br />known to be skilled and regularly engaged in the business of preconstruction <br />color audio -video tape documentation. <br />PART 2 -- PRODUCTS <br />2.01 GENERAL <br />All equipment, accessories, materials, and labor to perform this service shall be <br />furnished by the Contractor. <br />2.02 QUALITY <br />The total audio -video system shall reproduce bright, sharp, clear pictures with <br />accurate colors and shall have minimal distortion, tearing, rolls, or other <br />imperfections. The audio portion of the recording shall reproduce the <br />commentary of the camera operator with proper volume and clarity and be free <br />from distortion and interruptions. <br />01381 Audio -Visual Documentation.doc <br />01381-1 <br />
