COMMISSIONER BIRD AGREED WE NEED TO LOOK AT THE OVERALL <br />PICTURE, BUT DID NOT FEEL WE SHOULD INCONVENIENCE THIS DEVELOPER <br />ANY MORE. DISCUSSION FOLLOWED REGARDING THE PROPOSED COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN WHICH HOPEFULLY WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS SITUATION. <br />COMMISSIONER FLETCHER STATED THAT HE WOULD NOT WANT THIS <br />PARTICULAR REZONING TO SET A PRECEDENT BECAUSE HE PERSONALLY VIEWED <br />THE LAND ALONG THE RIVER AS ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE AND WOULD LIKE <br />TO SEE ITS USE LIMITED TO ONE UNIT PER 3 ACRES, <br />COMMISSIONER BIRD INQUIRED IF THIS IS GOING TO NECESSITATE <br />GOING BACK BEFORE THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION OR WHETHER WE CAN <br />BRING IT DIRECTLY BACK TO THE COUNTY COMMISSION. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS RECOMMENDED THE BOARD DISPENSE WITH THE <br />REQUIREMENT OF THE ZONING COMMISSION SINCE THEY ALREADY HAVE MADE <br />A RECOMMENDATION ON THIS MATTER. <br />COMMISSIONER FLETCHER STATED THAT HE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH <br />THAT AND WOULD ADD IT TO THE MOTION. COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK CONCURRED. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION ON THE MOTION FOR THE <br />COUNTY COMMISSION TO INITIATE ACTION TO REQUEST A REZONING OF THE <br />APPLICANT S ENTIRE PIECE OF PROPERTY TO R-213, SAID REZONING TO <br />COME DIRECTLY BACK TO THE COUNTY COMMISSION. IT WAS VOTED ON AND <br />CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br />ATTORNEY HENDERSON POINTED OUT THAT HIS CLIENT FORMALLY <br />AMENDED HIS PETITION TO R-21) BEFORE A VOTE WAS TAKEN, AND IF THAT <br />WAS NOT VOTED DOWN, HE WOULD LIKE IT TO BE ACTED UPON. HE NOTED <br />THAT THE MOTION WAS TO DENY THE ZONING TO R -2B. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS FELT THAT THE RECORD SHOWS THE OFFER TO <br />CHANGE TO R -2D AND THAT THE DENIAL TO REZONE WAS A TOtAL DENIAL. <br />ORDINANCE 81-14 - REZONING PROPERTY IN J.
