The State of Florida Generic Permit for Stormwater Discharge <br />From Large and Small Construction Activities. Contact the Florida <br />Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) at (866) 336-6312 <br />(toll free) or (850) 245-7522 or <br />www.dep.state.fl.us/water/stormwater/npdes/ <br />3. Florida Department of Environmental Protection <br />(FDEP) "Notice of Intent to Use Generic Permit for Stormwater <br />Discharge From Construction Activities That Disturb one or More <br />Acres of Land and Contributes stormwater discharges to surface <br />waters of the State or into a municipal separate storm sewer <br />system (MS4) permit application form. Contact FDEP at (407) 894- <br />7555 or (850) 921-9904; and <br />4. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) "Notice of Intent <br />(NOI) for Storm Water Discharges Associated With Construction <br />Activity Under a NPDES General Permit." <br />B. Provide copies of all permits to the OWNER and ENGINEER and comply <br />with all conditions contained in all permits at no extra cost to the OWNER. If <br />there is a conflict between any permit requirement and these Specifications, <br />the more stringent specification or requirement shall govern. <br />1.3 GENERAL <br />A. Do not begin any other construction work until the pollution control and <br />treatment system has been constructed in accordance with approved plans <br />and approved for use by the OWNER and applicable permitting authorities. <br />B. From time to time, the OWNER or ENGINEER will inspect the pollution <br />control and treatment system and may take effluent samples for analysis by <br />a testing laboratory selected and paid for by the OWNER. If at any time, the <br />OWNER or ENGINEER determines that the pollution control and treatment <br />system is not in compliance with the approved system, the OWNER or <br />ENGINEER will shut the portion of the project down that is not in compliance, <br />and it shall remain shut -down until the pollution control and treatment system <br />is properly constructed or repaired, and complies with the approved pollution <br />control and treatment system plans and specifications. <br />C. Schedule construction to minimize erosion and stormwater runoff from the <br />construction site.
