Joints <br />Joints for PVC pressure pipe shall be bell and spigot push -on rubber gasket type only. No solvent <br />weld or threaded joints will be permitted. <br />The Engineer of Record or IRCDUS may consider other type joints for specific installation upon <br />submission of specifications and approval. <br />Restraint joints, when required, see Approved Manufacturer's Product List. <br />Fittings <br />All underground fittings shall be either ductile iron push -on, restrained, or mechanical joint. <br />Mechanical joints shall conform to AWWA Standard Specifications C110/A21.10 or C153/A21.53 <br />latest revisions. Fittings shall be fusion -bonded ceramic epoxy lined. The epoxy material shall be <br />applied in one coat with a minimum dry film thickness of 40.0 mils and shall be Protecto 401 or <br />approved equal. All aboveground exposed fittings shall be flanged. <br />The pressure rating shall be 350 psi. <br />Joint restraint, when required; see Approved Manufacturer's Product List. <br />Submittals <br />Before starting fabrication of the PVC pipe and fittings, the Contractor shall submit complete <br />detailed working drawings for approval by the Engineer and IRCDUS. Such drawings shall show <br />the piping layouts and contain schedules of all pipe, fittings, valves, expansion joints, hangers and <br />supports, and other appurtenances. Where special fittings are required, they shall be shown in <br />large detail with all necessary dimensions. The drawings submitted shall show flanged jointed <br />sections placed so as to be removable without disturbance to the main pipe sections. <br />Markin <br />Number 10 stranded conductor copper trace wire shall be spiral wrapped or affixed to the top of <br />the pipe. See Trace Wire Detail M-16 for specifications regarding installation. <br />Trace wire is required over all pipes. <br />A 2" wide magnetic I.D. location tape is required over all pipes.
