NONMAJOR GOVERNMENTAL FUNDS <br />SPECIAL REVENUE FUNDS <br />Court Facilities- To account for the court facility surcharge, additional court costs, <br />the additional recording fee for court technology, and <br />improvements made to court facilities. <br />Section 8 Rental Assistance- To account for the provision of rental assistance for low income <br />housing. Financing is provided by grants from the U.S. Department <br />of Housing and Urban Development. <br />Special Law Enforcement- To account for the expenditures of providing law enforcement <br />equipment. Financing is provided by confiscation of monies and <br />property in accordance with Section 932.704 of the Florida <br />Statutes. <br />Tree Ordinance Fines- To account for fines assessed against individuals for illegal <br />removal of protected trees. Funds are used for park improvements. <br />Tourist Development- To account for the proceeds from the levy of a local option Tourist <br />Development tax. Funds are used to attract tourism trade and for <br />the benefit of County residents. <br />911 Surcharge- To account for the receipt of the 911 surcharge on all telephone <br />bills of the County. Monies are used to pay the operating costs of <br />the 911 Emergency Center. <br />Drug Abuse- To account for the collection of fines on criminal drug cases. <br />Monies are used for drug prevention and education programs. <br />State Housing Initiatives <br />Partnership- To account for State funds distributed under the State Housing <br />Initiatives Partnership Act. The purpose of this program is to <br />provide for the creation and preservation of affordable housing. <br />Funds are provided by the documentary stamp taxes. <br />102 <br />
