Comprehensive Plan Transportation Element <br />POLICY 9.4: The county will review airport master plans, transit development plans, <br />and intermodal facility plans to ensure adequate bicycle, pedestrian, transit, and auto <br />access and circulation within airports and related facilities. <br />OBJECTIVE 10 ENERGY EFFICIENCY <br />Between 2009 and 2030, the total number of vehicle miles traveled in Indian River County will <br />increase by no more than the rate of growth of the overall population of Indian River County. <br />POLICY 10.1: The County will implement the transportation improvements identified in <br />the 2030 Cost Feasible Plan. <br />OBJECTIVE 11 SYSTEM PRESERVATION <br />Through 2030, the County will ensure that all bridges on major roads have a structurally safe <br />rating and at least 80% of major roads have a pavement maintenance rating of 3.0 on the 5 -point <br />Federal Highway Administration scale. <br />POLICY 11.1: The County will continuously evaluate both pavement condition and the <br />structural integrity of bridges on the major road network and will implement improvements as <br />warranted. <br />Community Development Department Indian River County 135 <br />
