BOLINGER <br />DOROTHY A.TALBERT <br />June 2, 1981` <br />Mr. Pat Lyons, Erman <br />Indian River Couvfty Commission <br />Courthouse <br />Vero Beach, FL. 32960 - <br />Dear Mr. Lyons: <br />At its meeting of April 27, 1981 the School Board voted to ask the <br />County Commission to add the name "Fighting Indians Way" to the <br />stretch of 16th Street between 16th Avenue and 20th Avenue. This <br />was in support -of a recommendation by the Vero Beach High School <br />Student Council, which had determined that no other business or <br />residence would be affected and that this would be a means of spread- <br />ing pride in the high school complex. The School Board would be <br />willing to erect a street sign if the County Commission approves. <br />We shall await the decision of the Commission. <br />Sincerely, <br />i <br />PJ m7s A. Burns <br />urerintendent <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER BIRD, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SCURLOCK, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED RESOLUTION 81-40 ADDING THE <br />NAME "FIGHTING INDIANS WAY" TO THE STREET SIGN ON 16TH STREET BETWEEN <br />16TH AVENUE AND 20TH AVENUE, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE SCHOOL <br />BOARD WILL PAY FOR THE COST TO ERECT AND MAINTAIN THE SIGN$ <br />
