The training program will include appropriate officials of each <br />municipality and all volunteers and volunteer agencies assigned <br />responsibilities in the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. <br />The Emergency Management Coordinator will keep abreast of and request <br />training from the state on all matters that relate to state and federal programs <br />that would enhance the preparedness of Indian River County. <br />The Emergency Management staff will remain current with the highest <br />training credentials possible. They will cooperate with and assist other <br />county and municipal agencies in the conduct of exercises. <br />Each agency tasked within this plan will be trained (and maintain training) to <br />compliment/fulfill the requirements of the National Incident Management <br />System (NIMS) commensurate with the role assigned. The NIMS Integration <br />Center establishes the minimum training standards for credentialing <br />personnel and equipment (HSPD-5). <br />A training program for response, recovery and mitigation, rumor control, <br />damage assessment, fiscal accounting, and damage survey request will be <br />scheduled by emergency management. Each agency will maintain a roster of <br />trained personnel, including the type of training and date received, for all <br />persons with emergency response capabilities. A Public Assistance <br />workshop will also be offered annually to all possible PA participants. This <br />training will provide an overview of documentation and reimbursement <br />procedures. <br />The minimum and recommend training requirements for ESFs and other <br />agencies are outlined in Figure 11 (Recommended Training). <br />B. Cost for Training <br />All State -Delivered (G -series courses listed in Figure 11, below) are free of <br />cost. Unless otherwise stipulated, the State will reimburse the G -series <br />course attendee the state -approved hotel cost for attending courses <br />conducted more than 50 miles from their duty location. The student, or <br />sponsoring agency, is responsible for all other associated costs. For those <br />attending FEMA -resident courses, the training is free and FEMA will <br />reimburse the student the allowable travel costs and provide free lodging on <br />the campus. Students, or their sponsoring agency, are responsible for all <br />other costs, e.g., meals All FEMA Independent Study courses, (IS -courses <br />listed in Figure 11, below) are free. For other State -delivered training <br />opportunities, US Department of Justice, etc., all associated costs will be <br />contained in the training announcement.
