FOR OVER FOUR YEARS. HE CONTINUED THAT THEIR WORKING RELATIONSHIP <br />HAD BEEN SATISFACTORY, THEY HAD PROVED TO BE EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE, <br />HAD GREAT INTEGRITY, AND THE MOORINGS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE GOOD TO <br />GRADUALLY DEVELOP THE TRANSFER OF THE SYSTEM WITH THEM. MR. GONZALEZ <br />NOTED THAT THE POSITION OF THE MOORINGS WAS TO RECOMMEND THEM. HE <br />WANTED THE BOARD TO BEAR IN MIND THAT IF THE BOARD, AS WELL AS THE <br />TAXPAYERS WERE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS TRANSFER, THE MOORINGS WERE MORE <br />CONCERNED THAN ANYBODY. <br />COMMISSIONER FLETCHER AGAIN WONDERED WHY A CONTRACT COULD <br />NOT BE DRAWN UP BETWEEN HUTCHINSON UTILITIES AND THE PROPERTY OWNERS. <br />A BIT OF DISCUSSION FOLLOWED, AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT <br />THE PROPERTY OWNERS DID NOT ISSUE THE FRANCHISE, AND THEY DO NOT HAVE <br />THAT RIGHT. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />WODTKE, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED ADVERTISING FOR A PUBLIC <br />HEARING FOR AUGUST 19, 1981 ON THE TRANSFER PROPOSAL OF THE MOORINGS <br />SEWER SYSTEM FRANCHISE. <br />COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK ADVISED THAT HE WOULD DEVELOP THE <br />TWO ALTERNATIVES: IF THE COUNTY WOULD GET INVOLVED, OR IF HUTCHINSON <br />UTILITIES WOULD TAKE OVER THE SYSTEM. <br />ADDITIONAL AGENDA ITEM <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS REQUESTED ADDING AN ITEM REGARDING WATER AND <br />SEWER ON THE NORTH BEACH. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SCURLOCK, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED ADDING THIS EMERGENCY ITEM <br />TO THE AGENDA. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS ANNOUNCED THAT THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR .JONES <br />INTERCABLE WILL BE CONTINUED TO OCTOBER 15, 1981 AT 7:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />AT THE SEBASTIAN COMMUNITY CENTER. <br />k <br />BOOK <br />JUL 151991 13 <br />L- <br />6 PAGE 835 <br />
