He pointed out that although the County can <br />postpone this for two years, after that period of time, they <br />would have no control over it. <br />Discussion continued re the requested change in <br />density, and it was asked if the applicant would be <br />satisfied with a Motion to allow a maximum density of 2 <br />units per acre. Mr. Kenny stated that he would. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Scurlock, seconded by <br />Commissioner Fletcher, to allowta maximum density of 2 units <br />per acre on the property of Hugh Smith recently annexed to <br />the City of Sebastian. <br />Attorney Collins suggested that the applicant prepare <br />an appropriate document describing the property and stating <br />that he would be satisfied with 2 units per acre; the <br />document to be signed by Sebastian, Indian River County and <br />the property owner. <br />Mayor Flood then proceeded to make an impassioned <br />speech about the County staff, the Administrator, and <br />certain Commission members, going behind Sebastian's back <br />and making statements to the press about the annexations <br />made by Sebastian. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that the greatest concern <br />we have been getting about the numerous annexations made by <br />Sebastian has been voiced by representatives of Sebastian, <br />and the Commission did direct that some research be done 'on <br />this matter. <br />Mayor Flood suggested that the County and Sebastian <br />should sit down and discuss this matter jointly, and <br />Commissioner Fletcher asked if the Mayor would have any <br />problem about informing the County Commission prior to an <br />anticipated annexation. <br />Mayor Flood stated that -he would instruct Sebastian's <br />City Attorney to send the County Commission a copy of any <br />application <br />for annexation, and <br />that he also would <br />instruct <br />N O V 181981 <br />41 <br />BOOK <br />48 PAcF 172 <br />I <br />
