It shall be adjustable to provide a <br />temperature range of up to 10 F between full heating and full cooling, <br />except as followed in 503.3(c)4b. <br />(n) The introductory paragraa2 _:f Section 503.9 in the energy code as <br />adopted March 21, 1979, r�:iui]^s ds `ollows: <br />All duct work shall 'be cor.strucLad and erected in accordance with <br />standards RS -15, RS -16, RS -17, RS -18, RS -19, or RS -20, as applicable, <br />which standards supersede the standards in Section 502 of the Standard <br />Mechanical Code now or hereafter in effect as adopted by the county. <br />The other provisions of Chapter V of the said mechanical code apply to <br />the extent the specific criteria are not addressed in any applicable <br />RS standards. If there is a conflict between any provisions of Chapter <br />V of said mechanical code as amended or hereafter and the RS standards, <br />the RS standards shall control. Subparagraphs (a), (b) and (c) of <br />Section 503.9 are not amended. This amendment continues from the <br />original adoption of the energy code on March 21, 1979. <br />(o) Add the following paragraph 504.2(a)2 at page 5-26 of the energy <br />code between when tested in accordance with Standard RS -7" and <br />"EXCEPTION:-:" <br />All gas-/ and oil -fired water heaters having an input rate over <br />75,000 Btu/h (22kw) but less than 4,000 Btu/h per gallon (0.3 kw/liter) <br />of self -stored water shall also have a standby loss not exceeding: <br />X = 2.8 + p/002 Q/V <br />Where Q = rated input in Btu/h; V =3 rated volume in gallons <br />(S = 2.8 + 25/9 Q/Y for V of 1.52 m or less; or S = 2.8 + 41 Q/V for <br />V exceeding 1.52 m ) when tested in accordance with Section 2.8 of <br />Standard RS -7. (For determining the efficiency of oil fired units, <br />CF = 1.0; Q = total gallons of oil consumed; and H = total heating <br />value of the oil in Btu/gallon). <br />(p) The italicized paragraph in paragraph (e) of Section 505.2 of the <br />energy code remains deleted. Said deleted paragraph reads as follows: <br />A single meter for the building can be installed to determine power <br />company charges with submetering for each tenant to prorate the charges <br />between tenants. <br />(q) Add the following after the last sentence of paragraph 602.2(a) at <br />page 6-1 of the energy code: <br />Charts 6-C and 6-D shall be used for Group R buildings. Thermal mass <br />factor M = 0.8. <br />(r) Subparagraphs 1 and 2 of Subsection 603.3 on page 6-5 of the energy <br />code are hereby amended to read as follows: <br />1. Where used to control heating only, a maximum temperature setting <br />of 72 F. <br />2. Where used to control cooling only, a minimum temperature setting <br />of 78 F. <br />(s) Add Chart 6-C by an inserted new page numbered 6-10.1 following <br />page 6-10 of the energy code. Add the following sentence under the <br />heading of said Chart 6-C: <br />(Includes mass factor of 0.8) <br />Also add Chart 6-D to the reverse side of said new page 6-10; number <br />said reverse side page 6-10.2 and add the following under the heading <br />of said Chart 6-D: <br />(Includes mass factor of 0.8) <br />-4- <br />
