7 A <br />- r§ _ is <br />(t) Add the following sentence as a new paragraph following the last <br />paragraph of Section 802.1 (following the paragraph referring to Column <br />F) and immediately before Section 802.2 at page 8-2 of the energy code: <br />Infiltration need not be calculated as part of the design -day <br />method. <br />(u) Alternate pages 1-2A, 1-4A, 5-15A, 5-16A, 5-17A, 6-4A, and 6-5A <br />are not adopted by the county. Appendix Tables 6-1A at page 6-11, <br />6-1B at page 6-12, 6-1C at page 6-13, 6-2 and 6-3 both at page 6-14 as <br />they existed on March 21, 1979 are deleted .from the Indian River County <br />Energy Code. The State of Florida is now amending said Appendix Tables. <br />When each amended appendix table is adopted by the state, each state - <br />adopted amendment shall automatically become a part of the energy code <br />as typical assemblies, and which shall not be all inclusive. Alternate <br />Table 6-1B has been adopted by the State of. Florida and shall be inserted <br />at page 6-12 of the energy code as a typical assemblage. <br />(v) The Indian River County Board of Adjustments and Appeals shall.have <br />jurisdiction over appeals from decisions of the building official regard- <br />ing the Indian River County Energy Code and the standards therein. <br />(w) Add additional Section 9, Residential Point System Method dated <br />August 30, 1979 prepared by Brabham, Kuhns, DeBay, and Dr. Roger Messen- <br />ger and Dr. Jose Villanueva which Addendum to the Florida Model Energy <br />Efficiency Code for Building Construction is incorporated into this <br />section with three (3) copies on file in the office of the clerk of the <br />circuit court of Indian River County, said addendum numbered 901.0 <br />through 903.5. <br />(x) Add an additional Section 10, Florida Power and Light Company <br />Optional Energy -Saving Features/Point Awards which shall read: <br />1001 Limited solely to single-family residential structures where it <br />is established that the Florida Power and Light Companv Optional Energy - <br />Saving Features/Point Awards system meets or exceeds criteria established <br />in the energy code as amended by this section, the building department <br />shall be authorized to accept an application that meets or exceeds one <br />hundred (100) points over the Florida Power and Light Company Optional <br />Energy -Saving Features/Point Awards in lieu of other methods of compu- <br />tation as provided in the energy code. The Florida Power and Light <br />Company criteria designated Optional Energy -Saving Features/Point Awards, <br />is hereby incorporated into this section with three (3) copies on file in <br />the office of the clerk of the circuit court of Indian River County, <br />Florida. (Ord. No. 79-6, X 1, 3-26-79; Ord. No. 80-4, X 1, 2-11-80) <br />Cross reference -Mechanical code, X X 4-101, 4-102. <br />Indian River County Code of County Ordinances Section 4-38 is amended to <br />read as follows: <br />Sec. 4-38. Energy efficiency building code adopted; amendments. <br />(a) Effective October 1, 1980, the 1980 Florida Legislature mandated <br />Chapter 80-193, Laws of Florida, which state in essence that the Florida <br />Model Energy Efficiency Code replaces all other codes addressing energy <br />code standards in the State of Florida. Therefore, Indian River County <br />does hereby adopt the Florida Model Energy Efficiency Code for Building <br />Construction, published by the Governor's Energy Office for the Department <br />of Community Affairs, Bureau of Codes and Standards, effective October 1, <br />1980, a copy of which is on file in the Indian River County Planning and <br />Zoning Department and which is hereby made a part of the Code of County <br />-5- <br />
