INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 83 - 30 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA SUBSTANTIALLY AMENDING SECTION <br />24 OF APPENDIX A TO THE CODE OF LAWS AND ORDINANCES OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, KNOWN AS THE COUNTY'S ZONING <br />CODE; GOVERNING OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADING REGULATIONS; <br />SETTING STANDARDS FOR SIZE AND NUMBER OF REQUIRED SPACES; <br />PROVIDING FOR COMPACT CAR PARKING SPACES; ESTABLISHING <br />PARKING STANDARDS FOR CERTAIN USES NOT PREVIOUSLY AD- <br />DRESSED; REVISING CURRENT PARKING STANDARDS FOR CERTAIN <br />USES; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; <br />CODIFICATION; SEVERABILITY; AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that; <br />SECTION 1 <br />Section 24. The following paragraphs of the Off-street parking <br />and loading regulations are amended to read as follows: <br />Section 24. Off-street parking and loading regulations: <br />For the purpose of this ordinance, such "off-street parking <br />space" shall consist of a minimum net area of two hundred (200) <br />square feet with minimum dimensions of ten (10) feet in width <br />and twenty (20) feet in depth with driving surface for the <br />parking of an automobile, exclusive of access drives or aisles <br />thereto. Minimum dimensions for parallel parking spaces shall <br />be 23 feet in length and 8 feet in width. Up to twenty (20) <br />percent of the number of off-street parking spaces required for <br />each project may receive site plan approval by the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission and be constructed to compact car standards. <br />Such standards require that each space have a minimum width of <br />seven and one-half (7') feet and a minimum length of fifteen <br />(15) feet and that each space be conspicuously identified as a <br />compact car space. <br />There shall be provided on the building site at the time of <br />the erection of any building or structure, change in use, or at <br />the time any building or structure is enlarged or increased in <br />capacity by adding dwelling units, guest rooms, floor area or <br />seats, the minimum off-street parking space required for the new <br />structure or use with adequate provisions for ingress and egress <br />by an automobile of standard size, in accordance with this <br />section. <br />(a) Parking. <br />(1) Amusement game parlors, pool halls, and other similar <br />recreational buildings. One (1) space per one hundred <br />fifty (150) square feet of gross building area. <br />(2) Automotive, boat, and trailer sales. One (1) space <br />per five hundred (500) square feet of gross building <br />area plus one space per twenty-five hundred (2500) <br />square feet of outside display area. The display <br />area shall. be fully sodded. <br />(3) Banks and savings and loans. One (1) space per two <br />hundred (200) square feet of gross building area. <br />(4) Bowling alleys. Five (5) spaces per each bowling <br />lane. <br />
