48 PA-2EM <br />give us some idea of what a reasonable lease price might be, <br />and he felt the appraisal should be updated. <br />Discussion followed as to a provision to reserve space <br />on the proposed antenna for public services, such as the <br />ambulance squad. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, to authorize the Administrator and <br />Attorney to advertise approximately one acre of County <br />property located near 1st St. and Old Dixie for lease and <br />to have the necessary appraisal made. <br />Commissioner Fletcher inquired about the way the lease <br />would be tied in with the income from the tower, and the <br />Administrator stated that alternatives will be presented in <br />their memo to the Board. <br />The Board then discussed whether the property should be <br />advertised for a specific purpose or just request that <br />interested parties come up with a proposal for use of the <br />land. It was pointed out that we have a piece of property <br />someone wants to use and generally felt that the one who <br />comes along with the best deal is the one we should do <br />business with. <br />Attorney Brandenburg agreed and noted that the <br />Commission has a wide latitude and can ask the bidder to <br />submit an estimate of income from use of the property, etc. <br />The Chairman called for the question.
