Hardin to ask the Judge and others if they would be willing <br />to allow them access to any medical tests and information <br />pertinent to the problem, this information to be submitted <br />to these experts in a confidential manner, not to the Press <br />or to the Board. <br />Dr. Hardin confirmed that he would contact the Judge in <br />this regard. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />On Motion made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously gave Dr. Hardin <br />specific authorization to engage Dr. Husting and Dr. Alexiou <br />as recommended, for an amount not to exceed $1,500.00 to be <br />paid out of the County Commission contingency account, <br />providing the Judges make available on a private basis the <br />pertinent information developed as a result of this problem, <br />and the people in the Courthouse agree to be available for <br />these doctors to interview. <br />Discussion continued as to the fact that we have a <br />Motion to remove the carpet, but we don't have an estimate; <br />so, it appears, in fact, that nothing is going to be done <br />until we get the medical people here. The need for more <br />bids and the difficulty of obtaining bids merely on the <br />ripping out of carpet was reviewed. <br />Chairman Scurlock stated that his preference was to put <br />in carpet with foam backing and isolate the Judge, letting <br />him come in and out through the fire escape to determine his <br />reaction. <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that we have only agreed to <br />take the carpet out, and he did not want to put any down <br />without further tests because we just might have to remove <br />the new carpet once again. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Fletcher to authorize <br />Dr. <br />Hardin to <br />follow through on <br />the discussion <br />he and the <br />MAR <br />3 <br />1982690K <br />85 <br />49 AE 97 <br />
