The affected area is marked in yells:•.* on the enclosed <br />copy of the pertinent portion of the coastal barrier ;yap. The <br />Department of the Interior has requested comments anu recom- <br />mendations concerning the accuracy of the•Dra_`t Information <br />Summaries. <br />Please retard this letter as a request on behalf of the <br />John's Island Property Owners Association, Inc., to change <br />the coastal barrier map to show that the northern portion of <br />John's Island, hereto ore classified as undevelopeL, is <br />developed in accordance With the requirements set forth in <br />the Draft Information Summary fcr the reasons that fellow. <br />The Draft Information Summary in its definition of un- <br />developed coastal barriers sets ferth three requirements, all <br />of which must be met, for a coastal barrier to be classified <br />as undeveloped. The pcl-tion of John's Island categorized on <br />the present coastal barrier map as undeveloped does not meet <br />-two of the three requirements necessary for an area to be <br />categorized as undeveloped. <br />(l.) The first requirement is that within all or part <br />of an undeveloped coastal barrier, few man --made <br />structures may be present. <br />
