MAR 171982 <br />and the recommendations of the Transportation Planning <br />f <br />Committee as indicated in the letter of March 10, 1982. <br />Commissioner Bird hoped that, at some point, realistic <br />-cost estimates for the project could be obtained. <br />Mr. Davis reported they have done the best they could <br />on the cost estimate and the preliminary designs. He felt <br />it was a good cost estimate and does not look for any <br />surprises. <br />Commissioner Lyons complimented the committee and <br />Engineers Davis and Orr for all their work; it had been a <br />cooperative effort. <br />Commissioner Wodtke expressed concern over obtaining <br />property for this project. He again wanted an opportunity <br />to further discuss the traffic and parking with the School <br />Board. Commissioner Wodtke stated they must be able to <br />control and "in and out traffic" or it could be a problem. <br />Mr. Greene commented that if the School Board wanted to <br />expand and make an impact on the County, they would have to <br />go through a site plan approval. This issue came up two or <br />three months ago and the School Board was aware of this, he <br />.. added. ._ <br />Frank Zorc, interested citizen, came before the Board <br />and he agreed that the Transportation Planning Committee had <br />done a fantastic job; he also felt the School Board had been <br />well represented. Mr. Zorc referred to the question about <br />building four lanes on 20th Avenue between 16th and 18th <br />Streets that goes by St. Francis Manor. He reported that <br />enough land had already been allocated for this project. He <br />expressed concern about the pedestrian overpass on 16th <br />Street and urged the Board to give this a little more <br />thought, and felt the figure of $400,000 was a little too <br />high. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he was willing to vote <br />for the Motion but because of the interplay, would like to <br />
