APR 7 1982 ;arc <br />On Motion by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously approved the Proclamation <br />designating April 18-24 as Library Week. <br />PROCLAMATION <br />PROCLAMATION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE <br />WEEK OF APRIL 18 THROUGH THE 24, 1982 AS LIBRARY <br />WEEK IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. <br />WHEREAS, Library Week will be observed throughout the <br />nation during the week of April 18 through April 24, 1982; and <br />WHEREAS, this year's theme, "A Word to the Wise --- <br />LIBRARY," is a simple, strong way to remind citizens that the free <br />public library is their number one resource for information, edu- <br />cation, and recreation; and <br />WHEREAS, the institution known as the Public Library <br />represents the essence of the First Amendment protections of free <br />press, free speech, and the free flow of information and ideas; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Library Association, <br />with the aid and support of its many friends around the community, <br />is increasingly active in developing and promoting the County's <br />-library system; and <br />WHEREAS, it is altogether fitting and proper to recog- <br />nize the significance of Library Week and to urge support for this <br />worthy institution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, WE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, assembled in regular session this <br />day of April, 1982, do hereby proclaim the week of April 18 <br />through April 24, 1982 as <br />LIBRARY WEEK IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />in recognition of the vital role of libraries throughout the <br />country, the local association and its supporting parties, and <br />
