The residents <br />feel two things are necessary - one,.posting a sign closing <br />the park at sundown to open at daybreak, and two, placing <br />logs to outline the area so that four-wheel drive vehicles, <br />etc., cannot go into the lake. It was the recommendation of <br />the committee on site to instruct the Administrator to post <br />signs stating the park closes at sundown, but it was felt <br />that placement of logs as requested could pose some <br />problems. Commissioner Bird noted that actually we have <br />heard only one side of the story, but the neighbors feel it <br />is a nuisance. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Wodtke, seconded by <br />Commissioner Lyons, to instruct the Administrator to post <br />signs at Grovenor Park stating that it closes at sundown and <br />opens at daybreak. <br />Commissioner Fletcher discussed opening the lake to <br />swimming, but it was felt this would put too much liability <br />on the County. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />REPORT ON DONALD MAC DONALD PARK <br />Commissioner,Bird referred to previous discussions held <br />with Forester -Van Hoek and Parks Superintendent Cook in <br />regard to closing Donald MacDonald Park for overnight <br />camping. He noted that the park is a very primitive passive <br />area for overnight campsites and really doesn't have much <br />benefit as a daytime ark only. Forester Van Hoek <br />Y P Y <br />emphasized that his Department does not have the money to <br />replace what is broken by vandalism let alone the money for <br />continuous maintenance. <br />Commissioner Bird reported that he now feels strongly <br />that we should make every attempt to keep that park open for <br />campsites since it is the only place where someone can go <br />and camp in the County.
