budget, not to exceed $18,000, and because of the <br />approaching summer and heavy use of the park, to further <br />instruct that some priority be set on this for the <br />Engineering Department. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt it would be appropriate to touch <br />base with the Town of Indian River Shores to see if we can <br />have an extension of that lease to get back to at least a <br />twenty year period. <br />Commissioner Bird and Commissioner Lyons agreed to add <br />that to the Motion on the floor. <br />Some discussion ensued on the possibility of connecting <br />these restrooms' to the County, sewer system rather than a <br />septic tank. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lyons requested that the Recreation <br />Committee check and see what parks the County provides <br />lighting in. He wished to be sure that the Gifford Park <br />gets equal treatment. <br />REPORT ON GROVENOR PARK <br />Commissioner Bird reported that members of the Parks & <br />Recreation Committee took a field trip last week and visited <br />Grovenor Park. This park dates back to when the County <br />required developers to deed land within a subdivison for <br />parks, and it consists of approximately seven or eight <br />acres, 90% of it being taken up by a lake fed by a flow <br />well. There is a little dry land on the edge of the lake <br />that has been used as a public park. but it has no <br />facilities. The County a few years ago erected a sign <br />stating that no unauthorized swimming was allowed in this <br />lake. Commissioner Bird continued that he has received a <br />letter from a resident of the area with about 50 signatures, <br />complaining that there is a lot of partying going on there <br />after hours and then the partyers race around the <br />rin <br />43 nm 49 PnE IN 7 <br />APR 141982 _ <br />
