APR 141982 49 <br />hearings, and he would like to have the Attorney follow up <br />and check this out. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt one further matter of importance <br />is that we do not disseminate salary increase information <br />before this Commission has started addressing it,.especially <br />since we now are involved in dealing with collective <br />bargaining. <br />GIFFORD PARK RESTROOM FACILITIES <br />Commissioner Bird reported that the Gifford Park is <br />receiving -very heavy use and the number one priority in the <br />eyes of the Gifford Recreation Committee, the Progressive <br />Civic League and the County Parks and Recreation Committee <br />is a restroom facility. Two Port -o -Lets have been left <br />there on an interim basis since last Labor Day. He noted <br />that we have about 12 years remaining on the lease of that <br />property with the Town of Indian River Shores. In this <br />year's Parks budget, there was $18,000 for construction of <br />a restroom facility at the 510 Wayside Park (Wabasso <br />Causeway). He believed it was Park Superintendent Cook's <br />-- idea that a restroom facility was needed in that area for' <br />fishermen and perhaps one is needed, but it appears that the <br />pressing need is.a restroom facility at Gifford. It is the <br />unanimous recommendation of the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee, the Progressive League, Superintendent Cook, <br />etc., that that $18,000 be expended to build restroom <br />facilities immediately at Gifford Park and the 510 Wayside <br />Park be considered in future budgets. They would like to <br />build some storage capability in the same facility since all <br />they now have is a temporary building donated by the <br />Catholic Church. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Bird, seconded by <br />Commissioner Lyons, to instruct the County Engineer to <br />prepare construction drawings for restroom facilities at <br />Gifford Park, the funding to come from the present Park's <br />
