Commissioner Fletcher stated <br />that he felt the users should be the payers. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Wodtke, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, to authorize the Administrator to have a <br />streetlight placed at the intersection of Lundberg Road and <br />Kings Highway. The Motion was voted on and defeated 2 to 3, <br />with Commissioners Lyons, Fletcher, and Chairman Scurlock <br />voting in opposition. <br />DISCUSSION/RE BUDGETS <br />Commissioner 'Wodtke reported that a Bill has been <br />passed by the Florida Legislature and signed by the Governor <br />which requires the Constitutional Officers and the Sheriff <br />to present their budgets for the following year no later <br />than May 1st. He, therefore, assumed we will be receiving <br />copies of their budgets within a couple of weeks and he did <br />not know whether they are aware of this requirement or not. <br />Assistant Administrator Greene believed that the <br />Finance Department has passed this information on to the <br />Constitutional Officers. <br />Chairman Scurlock stated that, while he realized we do <br />not have a lot of control over it, he would hope that the <br />Chief Finance Officer does not take his vacation during <br />budget sessions this year. He noted that he found it very <br />disturbing last year to be left with the second and third in <br />command during the budget sessions, especially as a new <br />Commissioner trying to become familiar with a new budget. <br />Commissioner Fletcher concurred. <br />Commissioner Lyons felt there also may be further <br />legislation whereby the budgets for Constitutional Officers, <br />including the Sheriff, are not final until after the budget <br />,r <br />41 <br />APR 14 190 1 49 PnE 395 <br />
