William Koolage, interested citizen, stated that he was <br />happy to hear the various points being raised regarding the <br />agreement with the architect. <br />Chairman Scurlock pointed out that Mr. Block was a <br />local architect. <br />Commissioner Fletcher wanted it noted that his concerns <br />about the agreement had nothing personally to do with Mr. <br />Block. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />CIVIL DEFENSE - EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER <br />The Board reviewed the memorandum concerning the <br />Emergency Operations Center, as follows: <br />TO 'The Honorable Members of DATE: April 15, 1982 FILE: <br />the Board of County Commissioners <br />THRU: David L. Hardin, Jr� Ph-.D.REFERENCES: <br />Asst. to Admin./Personnel Director <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the County Commission. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />At the regular meeting of the Commission on January 6, 1982 <br />the Board unanimously authorized the Administrator to explore <br />the cost and possible funding to include an Emergency Operations <br />Center at the Administration Building. '.Staff is presently <br />working toward completion of necessary project applications <br />and narratives to comply with Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency (FEMA) regulations for matching funds for the construct- <br />ion and/or renovation of an Emergency Operations Center. Present <br />facility does not meet State or Federal requirements for a <br />recognized Emergency Operations Center. <br />The Public Safety Advisory Committee recommended relocation of <br />Civil Defense in the Administration Building at their December <br />29, 1981 meeting. <br />APR 211982 17 N10- '. eE` <br />J <br />
