APR 211992 <br />sooK 49 PA,UE 434 <br />A brief discussion ensued regarding costs of various <br />library supplies and equipment. <br />Commissioner Lyons 'wondered if any part of the <br />collection of books in the Vero Beach Library could also be <br />used in Sebastian. He felt this was something the Library <br />f <br />Board could research. <br />Commissioner Fletcher inquired if the City of Sebastian <br />had been approached. <br />Mrs. Stephens stated they were informed that the City <br />of Sebastian did not want to go into the library business. <br />They do, however, have correspondence regarding their lease <br />agreement with the City of Sebastian. <br />Commissioner Bird inquired when the building for their <br />libra-ry will be ready in -Sebastian. <br />Mrs. Stephens responded that they were at the mercy of <br />the City of Sebastian but were hopeful that it would be <br />available in September or October. <br />After some deliberation with her associates, Mrs. <br />Stephens advised that the person they had selected to <br />represent the Sebastian River Library Board was Ramona <br />Widman. <br />Discussion followed about funding, and it was <br />determined the fair way to handle it is use the general <br />fund. <br />Commissioner Wodtke expressed enthusiasm about what <br />they were planning to do in the North County area, and hoped <br />that the Board could effectively cooperate with the <br />Sebastian River Library Board with funding. <br />Commissioner Lyons interjected that the State will <br />undoubtedly require a contract arrangement concerning the <br />library. <br />Ms. Widman informed the Board that they were busy <br />checking into foundation grants that were available; she <br />noted that the State has a one-time establishment grant. <br />
