Brandenburg REFERENCES: -- <br />County Attorney <br />On May 5, 1982 the County Commission received a status report on <br />the negotiations for the acquisition of a 2.2 acre parcel to serve <br />as a location for the South County Water System Ground Storage Tank <br />and Fire Station.- Mr. Robbins then related Mr. Padgett's offer to <br />sell the property to the County for $175,000.00. The Board re- <br />solved to authorize the Chairman to appoint.a County Commissioner <br />to continue negotiations with Mr.L.-Padgett. Commissioner Bird was <br />appointed and subsequently met with Earl Padgett. That meeting re- <br />sulted in an agreement by Mr. Padgett to sell the property for - <br />$150,000.00; and if the County ordered another appraisal that indi- <br />cated a higher value, he would continue his offer for $150,000.00. <br />On the other hand, if the new appraisal indicated a value less than <br />$150,000.00 he would negotiate the purchase price further (copy <br />attched). <br />Upon receipt of Mr. Padgett's offer, this office contacted Mr. <br />Peter D. Armfield, MAI. and ordered a new appraisal. The previous <br />appraisal conducted by the Ed Schlitt agency indicated a value of <br />$110,000.00. The new appraisal indicated a value of $132,000.00. <br />Upon review of the new appraisal, Mr. Padgett agreed to a purchase <br />price of $132,000.00. Attached to this memorandum you will find a <br />copy of an agreement for the sale and purchase of the subject pro- <br />perty that has been executed by Mr. Padgett, together with a reso- <br />lution authorizing its execution. The agreement must be accepted <br />by the County prior to May 20, 1982. The agreement further pro- <br />vides that the County will construct a fire station that is archi- <br />tecturally harmonious to the surrounding neighborhood and struc- <br />tures and paint the water storage tank a gray4green color and <br />provide adequate landscape buffering. <br />Respec lly ubmitted, <br />G Brun enburg <br />t Attorney <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Wodtke, seconded by <br />Commissioher Lyons, to adopt Resolution 82-52 authorizing <br />the Chairman to execute an agreement between Indian River <br />County and Vero Mar Development, Ltd., for purchase of 2.2 <br />acres as a site for the South Beach Water Ground Storage <br />Tank. <br />MAY 19 198 <br />103 <br />
