Wednesday, May 26, 1982 <br />The ,.Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, met in Special Session at the County <br />Commission Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, <br />on Wednesday, May 26, 1982, at 8:30 o'clock A.M. Present <br />were Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Alfred Grover Fletcher, <br />Vice Chairman; Dick Bird; Patrick B. Lyons; and William C. <br />Wodtke, Jr. Also present were David L. Greene, Assistant <br />County Administrator; Gary Brandenburg, Attorney to the <br />Board of County Commissioners; Jeffrey K. Barton, Finance <br />Director; and Virginia Hargreaves and Janice Caldwell, <br />Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and announced <br />that this was a continuation of the May 19, 1982 meeting: <br />Vice Chairman Fletcher led the Pledge of Allegiance to <br />the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions to the <br />Agenda. <br />Commissioner Lyons requested adding the following: a <br />report on the status of the courtroom; a discussion of the <br />last letter from Judge Smith; and comments concerning <br />reapportionment. <br />a <br />On Motion by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved the <br />addition of the three emergency items, as requested by <br />Commissioner Lyons. <br />Commissioner Bird discussed the position of Community <br />Development Director and understood that five people, who <br />lived a great distance from the County, were being <br />considered for the job.
