The Board recessed briefly at 10:35 o'clock A.M., and <br />Deputy Clerk Hargreaves took over from Deputy Clerk Caldwell <br />for the remainder of the meeting. <br />ADD ON ITEMS <br />Commissioner Fletcher stated that he needed some <br />clarification in regard to the discussion held at the last <br />meeting in regard to the $1.00 per run recommended <br />for the North County Fire District and he would like that <br />added under his items today. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Fletcher, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously added the above <br />emergency item to today's agenda as requested by <br />Commissioner Fletcher. <br />CONTINUATION OF DISCUSSION RE QUAY DOCK ROAD <br />Attorney Brandenburg continued to discuss the basis for <br />settlement, noting that if the improvements are made and the <br />terms of the settlement are accepted, Mr. Holmes then would <br />dismiss the lawsuit. With regard to agreeing that the area <br />between the terminus of the road and the Indian River will <br />be left in the same natural condition that it has been in <br />the last 40 years, he suggested we talk in terms of the <br />County being able to make certain improvements which would <br />correspond to what was historically in that area. <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt it would be preferable if the <br />wording in Paragraph F read something more like "agree that <br />the area between the terminus of the road and the Indian <br />River be left as much as possible in its present state and <br />the County would have the right to make any improvements to <br />restore it to its historic condition."
