Mr. Davis responded that they do not have a machine <br />that is adequate for their needs; they must have one that <br />will copy maps and reproduce lightly colored invoices. He <br />added that they had worked their request through the <br />Purchasing Division, who recommended buying a Savin under <br />State contract for a total cost of $3,398, which included <br />installation and a one-year warranty. <br />Commissioner Bird advised the Board that he recently <br />purchased a Sharp 741 copier locally for $1,800, and <br />suggested to the Purchasing Department that they check into <br />that possibility. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons to table this <br />matter until the Purchasing Agent could be present. <br />The Motion.died for lack of a second. <br />- Dennis Gentile, of the Road & Bridge Department, came <br />before the Board and discussed various copy machines and <br />their costs. <br />Commissioner Bird felt there should be some <br />computations made of the various machines being discussed. <br />Mr. Davis suggested the staff be authorized to go <br />through such an analysis and purchase the most economic <br />unit. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Fletcher that the. <br />Administrator be authorized to expend up to $2,500 on the <br />purchase of a copy machine after a study has been made on <br />the Savin and Sharp copiers. <br />Discussion followed. <br />Commissioner Fletcher withdrew his Motion. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Bird, seconded by <br />Commissioner Fletcher for the Board to table any final <br />action on this matter until staff can advise the Board at <br />the next meeting of their findings. <br />MAY 2 6 19-82- <br />9 W EI5 <br />
