for many years were adamant about their right to camp there. <br />Commissioner Bird informed the Board that he has contacted <br />the Health Department to assist us with a plan to bring the <br />restroom and water facilities up to standard, and when this <br />is received, he will bring it to the Board's attention to <br />see whether we want to get into the expense involved. <br />(E) Tracking Station Park <br />Commissioner Bird reported that we did receive approval <br />from the State for additional grant funds to develop the <br />• <br />Tracking Station Park. We had a plan which was pretty well <br />agreed upon by the residents in the area and the Committee <br />and that was submitted to the State. Before we proceed with <br />final construction drawings and permits, however, Commis- <br />sioner Bird stated that he would like to invite the <br />residents of the area to meet with the Committee one more <br />time to review the plan and make final suggestions for minor <br />changes. <br />Chairman Scurlock commented that he had been informed <br />that the actual depiction of this Plan in the Planning <br />Department did not contain the notations which are in the <br />final agreement. <br />(F) Property for Golf Course <br />Commissioner Bird next informed the Board that he had <br />received an inquiry from Tom McPherson, on behalf of the <br />City of Vero Beach, in regard to any parcel of County -owned <br />land that would be large enough to accommodate a golf <br />course. He noted that the County only owns two parcels <br />which are over 100 acres in size - one at Kiwanis-Hobart <br />Park and the other at the Sanitary Landfill operation, which <br />would not apply, and this was reported to Mr- McPherson. <br />Commissioner Bird commented that he is still looking into <br />the feasibility of a public golf course to be built at <br />
